Happy Holidays & 2008 Best Clicks

As the year winds down I wanted to review all the weddings I've shot in 2008. I have been lucky to work with: the best venues on the Monterey Peninsula, great coordinators, and a lot of other talented vendors in the wedding industry. Photography has been good to me this year and has led me to work in San Francisco, Carmel, Monterey, Nantucket and even as far as the Galapagos Islands - and I am fortunate to have done so. Please let me thank everyone, our clients, venues, coordinators and other vendors for making this year a success.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season & a Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, and have a sneak peak at our 2008 Scott Campbell Photography holiday card.

Julie & Ryan | November 29, 2008 | The Inn at Spanish Bay

If everyone were as nice as Julie and Ryan, well I think my job would be way too easy. They were married at The Inn at Spanish Bay which is part of the world famous Pebble Beach Resort. You can't ask for a better location and with an elegant bride like Julie the day turned out to be a whole lot of fun for all. Too many great shots to post them all but here are some of my favorites:

The Beach and Tennis Club at Pebble Beach makes for an exquisite reception site.

Love this little man working it.

And a couple shots from their 'Day After' session.

Ceremony: The Inn at Spanish Bay
Reception: Pebble Beach, Beach and Tennis Club
Band: Alison Sharino Band - Kelly Productions

SCP Launches New Portrait Website!!

Well, between finishing up our wedding season here in Monterey and trying to get all the orders completed for the holiday season I have been photographing a lot more portraits. Families, couples, children, high school seniors - you name it. So I thought it was about time to get a website up and running solely to showcase some of that work and here it is:

Take a look and let me know what you think. Also, anyone looking to have their portraits taken please contact the studio to set up a time.

Nicole & Alan | November 8, 2008

I've known Nicole for years, as she's one of the best wedding coordinators on the Monterey peninsula, now working for Bernardus Lodge and Winery. So as you would expect everything was meticulously planned and perfect. We started off at the new InterContinental Hotel, The Clement, down on Cannery Row where both the bride and groom were getting ready. Their ceremony was at the Carmel Mission and we ended the day with the reception at Pasadera Country Club. Here are a few of my favorites:

Dress: Ericka Engelman Couture
Flowers: Kathryn Smith Flowers
DJ/Band: Sight N Sound
Ceremony: Carmel Mission
Reception: Pasadera Country Club

Senior Portrait | Taylor | 10.28.08

Another Senior portrait from Carmel High School. Taylor had a fun and playful personality - it shows in all the shots. Here are a few of my favorites:

Love the heels and the parasol in this one.

If you know of any high school seniors that need their photos taken please give the studio a call.

Brenda & Kevin | October 19, 2008

We've been so busy this month, between myself and my associates shooting at least 2 weddings every weekend! Trying to catch up on the blogging - here's the wedding of Brenda and Kevin. Kevin's parents and I are good friends and they also own the famous restaurant Passionfish in Pacific Grove. If you are in the mood for a memorable meal, fresh fish, great wines and unbelievable artwork on the walls then you have to check them out. Brenda was an elegant bride, something straight out of Martha Stewart Wedding magazine. This beach wedding took place in Carmel, at Carmel River Beach with the reception at the historic Whaling Station in Monterey. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Venue: Carmel River State Beach
Reception: Historic Whaling Station, Old Monterey

Trish & Tim | October 4th, 2008

With rain clouds looming all morning it might have just been fate when the clouds cleared only a half hour before the ceremony at Mission Ranch in Carmel. The day ended up being nothing shy of perfect. Take a look at some of my favorites:

Venue: Mission Ranch, Carmel, CA.
Florist: Kathryn Smith
DJ: Jim Rivas, Sound in Motion

On1Breath Opening @ Scheid Vineyards

Last Friday night Scheid Vineyards opened it's new Wine Lounge on Cannery Row. Scott was fortunate enough to be named the signature artist and he has 10 On1Breath prints hanging in the lounge. He and his wife, Renee were out on the town so I thought I would sneak down there and grab a few shots of the night. With the new Clement Hotel and now the Scheid Vineyards Wine Lounge opening, that area of Cannery Row is really looking great. If you're in town you should head down there and try some of the '05 Pinot - it's tasty.

Scott's image 'Up For Air' - through the crowd.

Here's Scott, his wife Renee and Scott Scheid.

Cool quickie portrait.
