Pet Photography | Diego the Italian Mastiff

Diego came into the studio the other day looking for his portait to be taken and how could I say no. I decided to create a portrait with a more stylized New York fashion feel, similar to a photographer I like Jill Greenberg, that helps to simplify his character. He's 130 lbs, but really sweet and harmless. Take a look:

Monterey Bridal Fair 2009

Well, yesterday was the Monterey Bridal Fair 2009. It was definately a big turnout, for a lot of great vendors, venues and many brides-to-be. Haven Weddings is a magazine published by the Monterey County Herald and I was lucky to have my images full page over the inside cover for an article they wrote about Ericka Engelman Couture. We had a terrific booth setup with a very lounge-like feel, received many compliments about it and had a chance to talk to a lot of brides-to-be. Also, we will be posting the winner of our Engagement Sitting Give-Away very soon, so check back to see who the big winner is.

Happy Holidays & 2008 Best Clicks

As the year winds down I wanted to review all the weddings I've shot in 2008. I have been lucky to work with: the best venues on the Monterey Peninsula, great coordinators, and a lot of other talented vendors in the wedding industry. Photography has been good to me this year and has led me to work in San Francisco, Carmel, Monterey, Nantucket and even as far as the Galapagos Islands - and I am fortunate to have done so. Please let me thank everyone, our clients, venues, coordinators and other vendors for making this year a success.

Julie & Ryan | November 29, 2008 | The Inn at Spanish Bay

If everyone were as nice as Julie and Ryan, well I think my job would be way too easy. They were married at The Inn at Spanish Bay which is part of the world famous Pebble Beach Resort. You can't ask for a better location and with an elegant bride like Julie the day turned out to be a whole lot of fun for all. Too many great shots to post them all but here are some of my favorites:

Well, between finishing up our wedding season here in Monterey and trying to get all the orders completed for the holiday season I have been photographing a lot more portraits. Nicole & Alan | November 8, 2008

I've known Nicole for years, as she's one of the best wedding coordinators on the Monterey peninsula, now working for Bernardus Lodge and Winery. So as you would expect everything was meticulously planned and perfect. We started off at the new InterContinental Hotel, The Clement, down on Cannery Row where both the bride and groom were getting ready. Their ceremony was at the Carmel Mission and we ended the day with the reception at Pasadera Country Club. Here are a few of my favorites:
